Since moving to New Jersey, PHRI has received the following institutional grants (as opposed to restricted research grants received by various investigators) from foundations, federal and state government, and others:
- U.S. Department of Energy … to develop molecular beacon based probes for rapid diagnosis of potential bioterrorist pathogens (appropriation request submitted by U.S. Senator Jon C. Corzine).
- The Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation … to support PHRI board building and development efforts.
- The Pfizer Foundation … to provide laboratory equipment for PHRI's summer research program for Newark high school students.
- The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey … to develop a method for rapid identification of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in Newark hospitals.
- Hoffman-La Roche Inc. … to conduct a Symposium on the emergence and impact of community acquired MRSA in New Jersey.
- Hyde and Watson Foundation … to purchase of a DNA sequencer.
- F. M. Kirby Foundation, Inc. … to support PHRI's program to help NJ hospitals reduce the spread of hospital-acquired infections.
- The MCJ Foundation … to support PHRI's 2003 science education outreach efforts to serve Newark students.
- The Prudential Foundation … to provide stipends to Newark high school students participating in PHRI's 2003 summer research program.
- State of New Jersey, Department of Health and Senior Services … to implement a program to help NJ hospitals reduce the spread of hospital-acquired infections.
- Victoria Foundation … to support the 2002 Summer High School Research Internship Program.
