Assemblywomen Weinberg and Quigley Host Meeting in Teaneck, NJ
to Discuss PHRI Hospital Infections Program
As part of a continuing series of meetings throughout New Jersey, Assemblywomen Loretta Weinberg (Chair, Assembly Health Committee) and Joan Quigley (Chair, Assembly Homeland Security Committee) hosted a meeting of hospital infection control professionals at the Marriott Hotel in Teaneck, NJ.
Dr. Barry Kreiswirth, Co-Director of the state-funded PHRI program to help NJ hospitals reduce the spread of life-threatening hospital-acquired infections, described the program and fielded an extensive question and answer session.
Both Assemblywomen stressed the importance of achieving sustaining funding for the program, and encouraged hospitals to make full use of the services offered in order to fully demonstrate the benefits.
For more information about what New Jersey's hospitals and PHRI are doing to combat this problem, see PHRI Hospital Infection Program.
