Postdoctoral position available at the Public Health Research Institute, New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University, Newark NJ.

A postdoctoral opportunity is available in the laboratory of Dr. Chaoyang Xue, to study Cryptococcus neoformans pathogenesis. The research in the Xue lab focuses on how human fungal pathogens sense extracellular signals and control intracellular signal transduction pathways that are important for cell development and virulence. We apply genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology to investigate the molecular basis of these fungal-host interactions. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree in an area related to molecular biology, microbiology, or biochemistry with less than three years of postdoctoral research experience. Candidates with animal handling experience are preferred. Prior experience with fungal research is not required but highly desired.
